Fall from Height
A carpet outlet has pleaded guilty to magistrates following injury to a member of staff who fell from racking at the company's store in Crawley. The investigating Environmental Health Officers found that the company had identified climbing on racking as a hazard and had signs stating 'do not climb on racking' but these controls had not been implemented.
The company was fined £6,000 under health and safety legislation for not providing training with costs of £6000.
